Appeal 'picks up'
Donations to the Red Cross appeal for the victims of Cyclone Isaac in Tonga have "picked up a little since last week.” The total collected by the North Canterbury centre of the Red Cross stood at $3780 yesterday. The secretary’ of the centre. Mr J. F. Mahoney, said last week he was disappointed with the response to the appeal, which had raised only $2300 by last Thursday. ■
