Wilson on comeback trail
PA Dunedin Bevan Wilson, the former All Black full-back, will captain the Otago sub-unions rugby team on its four-match tour of Queensland next month. The team announced yesterday includes 11 players (six backs and five forwards) who have represented the Otago provincial side. The team was finalised bv
the selection panel of Messrs Eion Sheath (convener), Dennis Stumbles and Jack Calder after they watched the trials at Roxburgh on Sunday. Wilson is making a comeback to representative rugby after missing the 1981 season because of injury. He played at second five-eighth in the trials but is likely to revert
to full-back for the main matches of the tour. The team, managed by Robin Oliver and coached by Mr Sheath, leaves for Australia on April 15 and returns home on April 27. Its matches are against Townsville (April 17), Rockhampton (April 20). Warwick (April 22) and Queensland Country at Ballymore Oval, Brisbane, on April 25.
