Exporters told “how to get act together”

The Export Institute of New Zealand, Inc. is holding a meeting in Christchurch today to tell exporters how they can “get their act together” in the 1980 s. The Christchurch meeting is part of a nationwide tour by the institute’s national president, Mr W. J. Hall, and the national director, Mr R. W. Southcombe, in a “state of the nation” report to branches throughout New Zealand. The meetings will study what the institute considers to be the main export issues of the decade, including closer economic relations with Australia, export incentives, the prospects in key export markets, New Zealand’s international trading image, and marketing strategies for the 1980 s. The presentation will include the use of video screenings and display charts. The tour will also be used to explain the institute’s role in the export community. The meeting begins at 4.30

p.m. at the Export Institute’s office at the corners of Peterborough Street and Montreal Street, and persons interested in going to the meeting may contact the institute before the meeting to see if they are eligible to attend.
