S.A. visit still wanted
PA Auckland The Labour Party President, Mr Jim Anderton, still plans to visit South Africa — if he can get a visa. At the height of the Springbok tour controversy last year .Mr Anderton applied to the South African Consulate for a visa. He was turned' down, blit told' to> reapply at a,later date.Mr Anderton has filed his
application and says he is serious about travelling there and visiting as wide a range of people as possible, including the jailed nationalist leader, ,Mr Nelson Mandela. - ' . Mr Anderton said that a balanced view of South Africa was needed. It was difficult for anybody who was, critical of the republic to get into the country, he said.
