A side-line specialty of Stuart Blanchard Motors, Ltd, is the repair and servicing of jet boat engines. For the last five years, Stuart has prepared and crewed for a Christchurch competitor, Mr Doug Russell, in the Citizen Watch jet boat marathon, held each September throughout New Zealand.
Fairly well-known among members of the New Zealand Jet Boat Association, Stuart has been on its national executive for nearly a year. The “bush telegraph” works well in this field, as Stuart says he does “quite a few repairs” on jet boat motors, even without general advertising of this additional expertise.
