Bread van doors
Sir,—l think that it should be illegal for bread vans to have rear-opening doors. The build-up of exhaust fumes behind such vehicles drifts through the rear door and contaminates the bread. We have had bread obviously contaminated by exhaust fumes; but how often have we eaten bread when the fumes’ contamination was less than our sense of smell, but still there? I have seen bread vans with the roller-type rear door being driven for miles with the door half ooen Bread vans and
other food-carrying vans should have only side-opening doors.—Yours, etc.,
G. K. MURROW. February 28, 1982.
