New base commander appointed

The command of R.N.Z.A.F. Base Woodbourne has been taken over by Group Captain G. Walling;ford on the retirement from j the service of Group Captain ;B. A. N. Greer. j Group Captain Wallingford i joined the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1952, ; trained as a pilot in the United Kingdom, and returned to New Zealand after serving in Malaya. He was assistant equerry to the Queen during her visit to New Zealand in 1970, and later served with the 7th Air Force in Vietnam. He became the commanding officer of the flying training wing, and was later appointed head of New Zealand’s defence liaison staff in Singapore. He moved to Defence Headquarters in Wellington in 1977 and at the time of his appointment to Woodbourne was director of operations.
