Another say on waters
Conservationists and other interested parties will get another say on ,a national inventory of w r ild and scenic rivers.
Government department officials and agencies have finished a final draft of the inventory which was tabled this month at a meeting of the National Water and Soil Conservation Authority. Their report says' that some nominations for the list of rivers, lakes, estuaries, and swamps may have suffered through proposed legislation to protect wild and scenic rivers.
The national inventory considered the natural attributes of inland waters and their surroundings but the legislation was designed to protect only the water. The next proposed step is inviting further comments bn the draft from interested parties.
