Canterbury tennis teams had a satisfying prelude to the Wilding Shield and Nunnbley Casket competitions by beating Wellington in a representative match at Central Park. Wellington, on Sat-; urdav. The Canterbury players won all four mixed doubles to clinch the contest by 12 matches to tour. In the top women's singles Sally Chapman, of Canterbury, went down in three sets to Belinda Cordwcl! aged 16. the runner-up in the recent national senior singles final.
