Property market
A Christchurch market gardening property at 478 Marshland Road was passed in at auction on February 11 at $240,000 — a price not much below the reserve.
The 7.9279 ha holding has a GV (1979) of $134,000.
It includes a three-bed-roomed, nine-year-old brick huse, with an office and a double garage with storeroom attached.
The property also contains two storage sheds and an implement shed. It was auctioned by Dalgety Real Estate. A spokesman for the company said that about 25 people attended the auction and that negotiations were under way for the sale of one block of the freehold property.
A 2.8955 ha property for development ’in Methyen was passed in at auction- ip Ash-;, burtorf ;.off February.' 5 ■ ■at $95,00,0'-;^;; marginally below the reserve price.
The block, which was advertised as a suitable site for motels or a residential subdivision, has a GV (1979) of $53,000. The auctioneer, Mr Colin McLeod of Hastings McLeod Read Estate, said that negotiations were under .way for a private sale.
