Award to snoopers
Four British Secret Service eavesdroppers have been awarded damages totalling ?57,500 by a court because years of listrieing to loud, static-laced radio signals had made them deaf. They had worked for the British Government in Britain and abroad, but few details of their work came out in court. The court was told that their work was so secret that many aspects of the case could not even be explained to their lawyers. — London.
