Situations Vacant Situations Vacant w MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS Bilateral Aid Programme Malaysia: Dairy Extension Adviser As part of New Zealand's bilateral aid assistance to Malaysia, it is proposed we appoint a Dairy Extension Adviser to the Dairy Training Centre at Institute Haiwan, Kkiang, for a two year assignment. The adviser will be based at Kluang but would be expected to spend up to fifty percent of the time traveling around Malaysia visiting dairying areas such as Malacca and inspecting mile coliection centres. The adviser would be primarily involved with training Veterinary Department Officers but the work wi also involve direct contact with fanners, mirk collection centre operators and employees on the Department's own, dairy farms at the Institute Ucmumm rralWcni. The Terms of Reference include - conducting training and extension activities and assisting in developing the curriculum and methodology for extension training at Institute Manvan; — to look into the current extension service activities of the Malaysian Veterinary Department and advise on the organisation of its services. REQUIREMENTS Applicants should preferably have a tertiary qualification in animal/dairy husbandry management, backed up by some knowledge of extension methodology and several years extension experience. Some overseas experience in a developing country would be an advantage, although not necessary. A positive attitude to working and living in a different cultural environment would be required. Salary is negotiable with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and tax free location, child and transfer allowances apply, plus the payment of all travel and accommodation expenses.
