YULE 1 Auckland J Sugar Ray Robinson justi- ’ fied a trip to Addington for ‘ the $50,000 New Zealand 1 Derby Stakes next Wednesf day with a game win in the 1 Cardinal Garrison Free-For-All at Alexandra Park last evening. 1 He led from end to end 1 and held off a late challenge 1 from Peter Foyle by half a 1 length after pacing the -2200 m in a smart 2min 50s. Sugar Ray Robinson will t be driven in the Derby by his ' owner-trainer, Max Robih- ' son, who drove him in his > latest win. > He will probably be accompanied by his eight-year-t old brother, Greg Robinson, which battled into sixth in the Auckland Cup. Greg Rob- ' inson will be a contender for the $25,000 Pan Am Mile at . the New Brighton meeting next Saturday.
