Mixed N.Z. market
In spite of big shareholding changes among listed companies, especially in Christchurch, the New Zealand sharemarket remained mixed in busy trading yesterday. New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association fell 4c to 450 c ahead of the directors’ “don’t sell” notice, and trading was busy in Williamson Jeffery’ as Brierley Investments continued to seek a 20 per cent interest. MSI Corporation eased 10c to 100 c atter the directors announced they were passing the interim dividend. The ordinary shares of N.Z. News sold for 298 c, up 3c, but a special sale of 960,000 shares went through at 325 c. Profit-taking was evident;for Ernest Adams and Taylors Drycleaning. The N.Z.U.C. industrial index eased 0.62 points to close at 724.75.
