Ruanuku spelling
Special correspondent Cambridge
■ The Wellington Cup winner, Ruanuku, is enjoying a well-earned spell. If an Australian trip is considered for him this year it would be for Melbourne in the spring not the Sydney Cup at Easter according to his trainer, Leone Pratt. Ruanuku which ran second to Loughanure in the Trentham Stakes on the final day at Wellington has come through his racing in excellent heart. “But,” his young trainer said, “with the tracks as firm as they are at present he might as well be spelling. Then we will bring him up again and when he is ready we will see what there is to suit him.”
