Noble Heights on trial
NZPA staff correspondent Sydney The New Zealand filly, Noble Heights, will have to extend Rose of Kingston at Morphetville, Adelaide, today if she is to prove herself for next week’s $130,090 Australasian Oaks. Noble Heights will have a 3kg weight advantage over Rose of Kingston when they meet under the handicap conditions of the $50,000 Queen of the South Stakes (1600 m today. It will be a different story next Wednesday, when they race again under set weights for the big money in the 2000 m Oaks.
Rose of Kingston, winner of the 2500 m V.R.C. Oaks last year, came back after being spelled with a win in the 1400 m Tauto Handicap on January 19. The expatriate New Zealand jockey, Gary Willetts, rode her then arid he will ride her again today.
