Lombard rates up
Lombard New Zealand, Ltd. the wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Westminster Bank of the United Kingdom, yesterday announced increases in interest rates for registered debenture stock for one year and above. The general manager, Mr T. W. Fitz Gerald, announced the changes. The new rates are: one year, 16.25 per cent (15.5 per cent previously); 18 months,
16.5 per cent (15.75 per cent); two years, 17 per cent (16 per cent); three years, 16.75 per cent (16.5 per cent); four years, 16.5 per cent (16.25 per cent); and five years, 16.25 per cent (16 per cent). Rates to remain steady are: three months, 13.5 per cent; six months, 14 per cent; and nine months, 14.5 per cent. The at call rate is 11 per cent, which was not offered previously.
