Public Notices MASSEY UNIVERSITY PALMERSTON NORTH LEONARD CONDELL SCHOLARSHIPS THESE scholarships are awarded by the Leonard Condell Farming Scholarship •Trust established under the terms of the will of the late Leonard Condell. They are administered by Massey University and are tenable at Massey University or other New Zealand Universities offering similar courses and degrees. THREE classes of Scholarships are available:— (a) Postgraduates Scholarships These are awarded annually with an emolument of up to $3OOO. (b) Ph.D. Scholarships These are awarded for a period of two years with an extension of one year subject to satisfactory reports. The emolument is up to the current value of the U.G.C. Postgraduate Scholarship (1981 — $4020) per annum. (c) Postdoctoral Scholarships A postdoctoral scholarship will normally be awarded once every three years for a period of one year. The emolument shall be up to the current value of the Massey University Postdoctoral Fellowship (1981 — approximately $16,000). Additional grants up to a total of $5OO per annum may also be allocated for minor items of equipment, travelling and sundry expenses. Candidates must be New Zealand-born graduates in sciences, agriculture or related disciplines (e.g. horticulture, veterinary science, food technology, biotechnology) and must enter fields of research for the benfit. of some branch of agriculture in New Zealand.
