Faster croquet play
PA Wanganui Fine calm weather yesterday did much to improve the play in the 1982 New Zealand Croquet championships at the Wanganui Club. Games were finished faster today as competitors have become familiar with the lawn and the wind was not hampering the ball. Results within the circulation area of "The Press" were — Men's championship singles: Murfitt (Cantv) 26. G. Byers (Mana) 12. Championship doubles: D. Bulloch (Waik-King), and C. John-
ston (Nelson) 26, A. and C. Anderson (Manawatu) 18; R. V. Jackson (Auck), and J. Hogan (Otago) 26, J. G. Prince (Hawkes Bay), and R. J. Murfitt (Canty), 9; D. J. Bulloch and C. Johnstone 26, Mr and Mrs W. R. Wiggins (Canty) 13. Mixed doubles championship: Mr and Mrs B. A. Johnston (Nelson). 24. A. D. Heenan and Miss Elliott (W'gtn), 18.
