Mr Nigel Sandford, a Christchurch amateur radio and television operator with the home equipment he used to send pictures to another amateur operator, Mr Vern Lovett, of Ashburton. Mr Lovett said the picture quality was comparable to that of TVI or TV2. Mr Sandford has been transmitting pictures in Christchurch for about seven months but this was his first “outside broadcast.”
