It is important that applicants, in addition to meat industry experience, have a practical appreciation of production related engineer- | ing, and are skilled in developing and maintaining harmonious labour I relationships. It is unlikely that the required levels of experience and I authority would be found in someone aged under 28 years. ICI Tasman Limited, (which is the largest supplier to New Zealand's rural industry) consists of three Divisions, and the Rural Division, which covers the animal health and agricultural chemicals fields, represents a major part of the Company's business. The position of Rural Division Manager is located at Upper Hutt and reports to the Genera! Manager. The Company is organised on profit centres and the appointee would be held accountable for the performance of his Division. In order to carry out this function successfully, the appointee must nave had broad managerial experience, and possess an understanding of all facets of management with particular emphasis on sales, marketing, production, finance, research and development. Previous experience in the rural industry is not considered a prereouisite, and whilst the appointee may have a tertiary qualification, this is not as important as a proven record. In order to have gained the necessary experience required for this position, the successful candidate is unlikely to be less tan 35 years of age, but this is flexible and younger applicants who meet the necessary criteria would be considered.
