Prices slightly firmer
The New Zealand sharemarket was moderately active yesterday, and share prices slightly firmer, but no strong trend emerged. Canterbury issues came to the fore. Ernest Adams and Christchurch Gas had 20c gains. Others to firm included New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative. Radio Avon, and Taylors Drycleaning. Fisher and Paykel stood out in the falls on a 7c loss, and CBA Finance declined 10c. The NZUC industrial index firmed 0.62 points to close at 700.92.
