Retail prices
All prices are in kilograms unless otherwise stated. Prices have been taken from shops in central Christchurch. Retail prices surveyed yesterday do not necessarily reflect the prices at the markets because many shopowners will have bought produce earlier in the week and paid higher or lower prices. Cabbages, 44c to 70c each. Cauliflowers, 90c to $1.05 each. Carrots, $1.29 to $1.50. Pumpkins, 80c to $1.40. Beans, $2 to $4. Courgettes, $2 to $4. Kumara, $2.20 to $2.80.
Tomatoes, $1.98 to $3.25. Lettuces, 49c to 89c each. Celery, $1 to $2 a bunch. Cucumbers, 69c to $1 each. Mushrooms, 50c to 65c for lOOgm. Potatoes, 53c to 69c. Strawberries, $1.25 to $2.50 a punnet. Peaches, 25c to 39c each. Cherries, 65c to 75c for lOOgm. Grapefruit, $l.BO to $1.98. Lemons, $1.76 to $2.80. Oranges, $1.30. Apples, $1.24 to $1.89. Bananas, $1.30 to $1.32.
