Trade balance worsens
PA Wellington New Zealand’s balance of trade appears to have worsened considerably, preliminary figures released by the Statistics Department indicate. Last month, total exports, including re-exports, were worth a preliminary $573.5 million, while imports were worth a preliminary $593.4 million. This left a deficit of imports over exports of $19.9
million. In November last year, New Zealand exported $23.9 million more than it imported. From July to November this year, exports were worth $2600.1. million while imports worth $2933.3 million. Imports exceeded exports by $333.2 million. In the same period last year, imports exceeded exports by $192 million.
