Record betting
Returns at the Rangiora club’s summer meeting on Saturday exceeded the wildest hopes of members of the committee.
On-course betting rose by $83,334 to $291,948,' a record for the course exceeding by some $60,000 the previous best at a galloping meeting last October.
Off-course betting, too, showed an increase being up by $77,464.50 at $412,440.
