Assault on constable
PA Wellington A ’ man convicted of as? saulting a police constable during an anti-Springbok tour demonstration at Nelson on August 22 was sentenced in the District Court at Wellington yesterday to 75 hours community work.
The man, David Grant MacPherson, aged 28, a fac-‘ tory worker, had denied the charge. ?. “. ' Judge Bathgate also, ordered him to pay $lOO in; witnesses’ expenses.
