Probation probe still on
The inquiry set up by the State Services Commission into the Probation Service in Christchurch would not be able to complete its. report until early next year, said the chairman of the’commission, Mr M. C. Probine, yes-, terday.-. >■;’•'-■ ’* ; The inquiry is. being conducted by Mr A. A. P. Willy, a Christchurch barrister, and Mr N. S. Coad, a retired
public servant. It was ordered by the commission after allegations of misconduct had been made in the weekly newspaper, “Truth.” Mr Probine said that the task of the inquiry had not been easy because of the nature of the allegations. The Public Service Association has concurred with the action being taken.
