Noon forecast

General forecast: The anticyclone centred south-east of New Zealand is moving slowly north-eastwards, and should bring fine weather to most places, with some areas of drizzle in the east of the North Island clearing slowly from the south duuring the day. A weak trough over northern North Island districts is expected to continue to bring scattered showers there. A north-westerly airstream advancing over the Tasman Sea should spread on to the south of the South Island during the day, with scattered rain developing later in Fiordland.
