Situations Vacant Situations Vacant REPUBLIC OF NAURU CENTRAL PACIFIC Applications are invited for the following vacancies with the Department of Education on Nauru Island: THREE PRIMARY TEACHERS TO TEACH AT MIDDLE AND UPPER PRIMARY LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum qualification is Teachers Certificate. SALARY: In the range of $A6684-$A10,045 depending on qualifications and experience. There is no income tax on Nauru. CONDITIONS: Appointees expected to commence 25th January 1982. Contracts are for two years with the possibility of extension. Free transport of appointee, family, personal effects and car on appointment and at conclusion of contract. Suitable housing free; furniture at a nominal rent; free electricity, water, etc. Free medical and dental treatment on the Island. Recreation leave accrues at the rate of eight weeks for every twenty-two months service. GENERAL- Aiwo Primary School is a Government School with an enrolment of 380 children, aged from 8 to 12 years. English is the language of instruction. While the children are predominantly Nauruan the school serves other cultural groups with a curriculum similar to that in Victoria. English teaching is based on the Tate programme. CLERKS OF WORKS TWO CLERKS OF WORKS are required for duties aassociated with construction of the NEW PLYMOUTH SEWERAGE SCHEME. The work will initially be associated with the construction of trunk sewers and a sewage pumping station and later extend to the construction of a "Carrousel” type sewage treatment plant. A background of supervising mechanical and electrical, services will be of advantage for one of the positions.
