Netball itinerary
PA ‘ Hamilton Seven matches, including three tests, are included in the itinerary for the Australian Netball Association’s tour of New Zealand next year.
After arrival at Auckland on Sunday, July 4, the team will play the- following matches: Wednesday, July 7. v North Shore; Thursday, July 8, v Northern squad at Hamilton; Saturday July 10, first test at Auckland; Monday July 12. v Central sqaud at Wellington: Wednesday July 14. second test at Palmerston North; Thursday July 15, v Southern squad at Ashburton: Saturday. July 17. third test at Christchurch. The team will return to Australia on July 18. "This is a considerably shortened itinerary to the one presented by the N.Z. Netball Association to the all Australian Netball Association, who considered it difficult for players to be away from their employment for a longer period, said the N.Z.N.A. president, Anne Taylor, yesterday. “This has meant that it has been possible to arrange only
one provincial game, against North Shore.
“The three squads will be selected from top up and coming New Zealand players, along with some experienced ones, and will give many their first, international playing experience.” The New Zealand team for the tests will be selected at trials in Hawke’s Bay on' April 2 and 3.
