Gillard, Jones win again
Grant Gillard and Melanie Jones (both Wharenui) won their second gold medals of the 1981-82 Canterbury swimming championships at Queen Elizabeth II Park last evening. Gillard added the men’s 1500 m freestyle title to the 800 m title he won the previous evening and Miss Jones added the 800 m title after winning the 1500 m event on Tuesday. Gillard won comfortably last evening, and the two swimmers who won the silver and bronze medals in the 800 m race took the same
2 medals last evening. Andrew 1 O’Donpghue was second and f Grant Forbes third.
