Cambridge beats Oxford
Cambridge narrowly won the one hundredth University rugby match- against Oxford, 9-6, on a snow-covered Twickenham pitch yesterday. The heavy snowfalls overnight and throughout the morning made conditions impossible for the flowing rugby, traditionally associ-
ated with the universities, but both sides tried valiantly to keep the. game moving. The result gave Cambridge the over-all lead in matches for the first time since the initial encounter in 1872. Cambridge has won 44 games to Oxford’s 43 with 13 draws.
