Crack found
NZPA . London More than 400 construction workers were airlifted from a North Sea accommodation rig at the week-end after a 28cm crack was discovered in a weld on one of its legbraces. The men were flown from Shell’s Fulmar oilfield to Aberdeen by helicopters. The rig will be towed
either to Norway or Scotland for repairs. Shell said the move, was not an evacuation but a “demanning,” and a spokesman said there was no emergency and no question of any danger. The rig, the Borgland Dolphin, is a semi-submersible, owned by the Norwegianbased 'Fred Olsen group.
