Forester’s death
Blenheim reporter A Nelson forester died from injuries suffered in a chainsaw accident in the Marlborough Sounds on Friday. He was Peter Wells, aged 46, married, of 206 Brook Street, Nelson. Mr Wells was working with a gang of men engaged in thinning and pruning a plantation at Onapua Bay, Queen Charlotte Sound. It is believed the accident occurred about 10 a.m. while he was moving up a slope while carrying the saw. First aid was given to Mr Wells while another worker left the area for help.
