Intention form for ‘boaties’ shortened
PA Wellington The police, the Marine Division, and other watersafety'groups have compiled a new “two minute” form which could help to save lives in the event of a boating mishap. The form is supposed to take a boating enthusiast only two minutes to fill out and is intended to be left with a neighbour, family members, or a friend, outlining the enthusiasts’ boating intentions.
The form covers the basic ■ details of type of boat, how many in the party, where •• they are going, for how long ■ they intend to be away, and • if any form of communica- ? tion, flares, and lifejackets ?. are carried in the boat. ; < Senior Sergeant T. A. ; Skulve said that although the form was relatively new it covered much the same ? ground as the “10 minute” j form which was designed for i people undertaking longer ■ sea voyages. ■ i
