Wickets record
Bruce Irving, the Lancaster Park off-spinner, was in the news recently when he became only the second bowler to take 1000 wickets in senior championsnip matches. On Saturday he put his name in the records again. When he caught and bowled Ray Jones of EastShirley, it took his tally of senior catches to 148, and he is now co-holder of tne record with lan Cromb. It was Irving's 264th senior appearance; Cromb played in 286 matches.
