School uniforms
Sir,—l feel that school uniforms should be abolished because they cost so much and children do not like wearing them. At most primary schools uniform is optional but when you get to intermediate and high school it is compulsory. The changing of one uniform for another with the change of schools cost a lot of money. The waste of money comes when you are only at a school for a few years and then move to another. More often than not uniforms are worn out or grown out of and as pupils are not allowed to wear mufti, a new uniform must be bought. And so the cycle goes on with each child. — Yours, etc.. B. SCOTT.
