Officer will be responsible to the New Zealand team leader for:— — Technical oversight of all aspects of the forest nursery, seed procurement, plantation establishment and management, provenance trials, insect and disease control, and research investigations. — Broad forward planning and programming for the development of the nursery and plantation, in accordance with the Project Management Plan. — Development of further trial and research work as required, including associated field duties involving geological and climatic surveys. — Assistance in the organisation and staging of ASEAN regional seminars in forestry promoted by the project. — Preparation of regular reports on technical aspects of the project, including material for Project Management Committee meetings, and quarterly reports to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. — Any other related duties as may be specified by the project leader. The officer will also be a member of the Project Site Committee, which as a joint committee of New Zealand advisers and Philippines counterpart forest officers, guides the day to day development of the project. Requirements:— Proven experience and competence in the above duties. It is imperative that good staff/worker relationships be developed and maintained at the project.
