Appeals launched
PA Auckland The Mayor of Auckland, Mr Colin Kay, and the Mayor of Green Island in Dunedin Mr V. C. Crimp, have launched separate appeals for families affected by the land slip in Grey Lynn yesterday. Mr Crimp telephoned Mr Kav vesterday to say he
wanted to organise a local appeal because having experienced the Abbotsford slip two years ago, he knew how the Grey Lynn people would be feeling. Mr Kay decided to launch an appeal after visiting the Herringson Avenue slippage yesterday, a sight he described as awesome.
