‘Warmest thanks’
PA Wellington The Prince of Wales has sent New Zealand his "warmest thanks” for its wedding gift of a carpet. In a letter from Buckingham Palace, much of it handwritten, the Prince has asked the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) to ” ... convey our warmest thanks to the Government and people of New Zealand for such a generous and useful gift." Prince Charles said he and the Princess of Wales were “both overwhelmed by your great kindness in thinking of sending us such • a splendid wedding present. “Thank you so much for taking all the trouble to find something which is so greatly appreciated and will bring so much pleasure to both of us throughout our married life.”
