The “Listener” programmes

Sir,—Mr. Muldoon seems to have a need to cut off his nose to spite his face with his threat to remove the “Listener” programme publishing monopoly. Because it is one of the few Government activities which show a solid profit, I would have thought encouragement of the journal would have been more profitable than attempts to reduce its circulation. Why is it that everything that man touches turns to mud? As regards his “trendy lefty” epithet, perhaps he could be called a “flighty righty.” — Silly, isn’t it? In the meantime I shall continue .to buy the “Listener,” with or without programmes. — Yours, etc., BRUCE NAYLOR. November 20, 1981.
