This is a senior position in the council’s work staff and as such commands an attractive wage and other generous staff benefits. County operates a fleet of four trucks and other road maintenance machiner.v. The mechanic has responsibility for the maintenance and re'pair of all county's works plant which by nature of it's variety makes this position a challenging and rewarding one. Top wages and allowances are paid and overtime is available. As this is a position of responsibility. direct supervision is thereior minimal so the mechanic is expected to be capable of organising his work load, ordering spares and consulting with outside specialist repair firms when required. Trials are carried out to investigate intensive deer farm management and production. Over 500 Red. Wapiti and Fallow Deer are run on the 75ha property. Duties'include technical responsibilities tor some trials and assisting with others, A considerable amount of deer handling will be involved as will assistance with animal management.
