Second rowing attempt
NZPA London The English oarsman, Peter Bird, is about to embark on his second attempt at crossing the Pacific from
San Francisco to Australia. Bird, aged 34, from Bethnal Green, East London, hopes to make the 10,000 kilometres in eight months.
