Familiar bowls story
It will be a familiar story when the women’s bowls Olympia Rose Bowl tournament goes into its final day at Linwood this morning — three Linwood teams through to the last eight. The three Linwood skips to survive yesterday’s post-sec-tion rounds, from the 11 who qualified, were Lex Kimber, Bev Muirson and Denis Page and Mrs Kimber has two doubles within her grasp. She won this event two years ago and she has already won the other big tournament so far this season, the centre triples. The other five skips still in
contention are Mary Boon (Lincoln), Molly Gibb (Rangiora), Lorraine Wederell (Spreydon), Altha Triggs (Riccarton Women's) and Edna Shatford (Dallington).
