Verdict today in fraud trial
Mr Justice Roper will sum up this morning in the High Court trial of Kay Patricia Evans, aged 28, a housewife, who has pleaded not guilty to 162 charges of defrauding D.
M. Bain and Sons, Ltd, of more than $lB,OOO between June, 1977, and April, 1980. The Crown alleges that Mrs Evans obtained the money by fraudulently drawing cheques on her husband’s imprest expense cheque account while he was working for D. M. Bain and Sons, Ltd, as a travelling salesman. Mr G. K. Pankhurst appears for the Crown, and Mr W. G. G. A. Young for Evans.
