Fruit juices in cartons appearing on market
Fruit juices packaged in Tetra Pak cardboard cartons, similar to those containing Big M and Zap flavoured milk, are beginning to appear on the Christchurch market. - Spa fruit juices, in orange and grapefruit flavours, have been on the market for some time, and are available in 250 ml packs and two-litre packs.' Spa is made by the Hutt Milk Corporation, Ltd, of Lower Hutt. This week a new competitor has entered the cartoned fruit juice market in Christchurch. Anchor Dairy Products, a division of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd, in Auckland, is marketing Prime .fruit juices in the South Island. Prime is expected to retail at 57c for a 250m1, Tetra Pak silver-lined, long-life carton, similar to. those used with Zap flavoured milk. Flavours will be orange, grapefruit,
tropical fruit, and grapefruitlemon. Prime has a six-month shelf life, and does not need to be stored under refrigeration. It is distributed in Christchurch by the Tai Tapu Dairy Company, which also markets Zap. Next week, another two cartoned fruit juices will be on sale, Top-a-peel and Spot. They are being produced by
K. B. Dairies in Ashburton for Bradburh , Distributors, Ltd, of Christchurch. Supermarkets will sell Top-a-peel in two-litre cartons in orange, . passionorange, lemon and apple,, and orange-mango flavours. Spot will be available in small bottles with the same flavours from most retail outlets and in two-litre packs for home deliveries.
