U.S. reassures China
The United States Treasury Secretary (Mr Donald Regan) says a strong cooperative relationship between the United States and China was a central element of President Ronald Reagan’s foreign policy. In an apparent bid to reassure his Chinese hosts about Washington’s China policy after disagreement over the Taiwan question, Mr Regan also said that close SinoUnited States ties were also essential to world peace and stability. — Peking.
