S.C. begins tomorrow
School Certificate examinations will start tomorrow, when 53,991 candidates will sit the English paper. In total, 75,087 pupils will sit School Certificate this year. The Examinations Division of the Education Department is preparing to handle 25,541 internally assessed marks, and 81,958 short answers will be marked by computer.
The number of overseas candidates will be 32. Because it is compulsory, English has the highest number sitting (53,991) then mathematics (39,705), science (32,784), and geography (27,555). Subjects which show an increase in popularity are economics, horticulture, human biology, Spanish, and workshop technology.
