Selwyn
PROFILE: Selwyn is a mixed urbanrural electorate, taking in parts of Christchurch. It stretches west to the Southern Alps and south to the Rakaia River and takes in the southern side of Banks Peninsula. 1978 Result: National, 8335; Labour, 7104; Social Credit, 2537; Values, 411. It needs a 4 per cent swing to fall to Labour.
