VIEWERS’ VIEWS
“Mainland Touch’ Sir,—l wonder how long we must endure the brand of fourth-form humour inflicted on us by those noted lack-of-humorists, Messrs Rodney Bryant and Jim Anderson in the course of “The Mainland Touch” television programme. On Thursday, November 12, we were once again treated to a series of below-the-belt innuendoes with accompanying sniggers and guffaws off-camera. Mr Anderson’s segment of this programme contains many useful and practical suggestions which are worthy of the time allotted. He should, however, concentrate his efforts in this area and refrain from indulging in worthless would-be criticisms with Mr Bryant. Many viewers perhaps are unaware of the double-entendres being perpetrated at their expense. If this is the case, it only makes the actions of these two gentlemen appear all the more reprehensible and irresponsible.—Yours, etc., B. W. O'MALLEY.
